The Personal Property Securities Register (PPSR) is a national register administered by the New Zealand Government that allows the public to check if any finance is owing against a tangible asset (other than land).

Here are some examples of when the PPSR can be useful;

• Buying a second-hand vehicle
• When a Debtor offers collateral as security
• Trade agreements that include a retention of title (Romalpa) clause
